Summary
Fully woven into the DNA of M&S, our Finance team plays a fundamental role in setting the pace for our key business decisions, shaping our budgets, analysing our sales, managing costs and making sure our most vital statistics and data are absolutely accurate.
With a focus on adding new value to all business areas by helping them make data-driven decisions and understand what is driving commercial performance – it’s our job to make sure the right tools, processes, governance, and ways of working are in place to support this.

We are looking for a highly motivated and financially minded Junior Accountant to:

  • Assist in achieving accurate and timely accounting information
  • Assist in the compliance of business transactions with local tax requirements

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Post expenses invoices per profit /cost centre
  • Prepare daily journal entries including accruals
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records of invoices
  • Creating and processing B2B / self-delivery / services/ compensation invoices using ERP software 
  • Intrastat/Extrastat reporting
  • Perform vendors reconciliations
  • Update utilities and energy consumption files (water, electricity)
  • Prepare the monthly 2% Marketing tax
  • Support the accounting team in daily tasks
  • Support the Senior accountant for the monthly, half year and annual accounts reviews

Job requirements

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in accounting department, preferably in multinational environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Good understanding of My Data requirements
  • Good Knowledge of MS Office

  • Knowledge of finance/accounting systems, working experience in ERP environment, preferably SAP

  • Strong communication skills & active learner attitude.
